About Departure Lounge Fitness
My name is Anthony Coyne and I’m over 50! In fact I’m over 55 but try not to think about it!
I’ve been a dentist for 35 years, 5 years in the Royal Navy and 30 in General Dental Practice.
I love my job and have always been reasonably sporty. But as the years passed I became more sedentary, less active, more sluggish and had less energy. Weight began creeping on. My get up and go had got up and gone, needed to lose weight ,lose fat and improve my nutrition and fitness.
I met an old friend 5 years ago, who was never afraid to tell it how it is. “You’ve put some weight on… You’d better sort it out or you’ll end up in the Departure Lounge!”
It hit home and I did something about it. I joined a gym and have been there most days since then, operation weight loss, fat loss and improve fitness had begun!
I’ve lost a couple of stone, but more importantly changed body shape, feel stronger, fitter and have more energy. I eat better, not all the time, but my nutrition has improved. Its so important for us over 50s to eat well. You can’t outtrain a bad diet!

This is crucial. We are what we eat.
I will give you access to our series of daily menus. These have been designed by Cath Cotter, a Specialist Consultant Dietician who works in the NHS specialising in weight loss in older people, often with underlying medical conditions. She has deigned a series of calorie counted menus to cater for just about every taste.
There are initially 15 menus, at three calorie values; 1500, 2000 and 2500.
These represent the recommended daily calorie intake for weight loss, the average woman and average man respectively.
Each menu in based on three meals a day , drinks and snacks.
Each menu is also macro counted , which means they consist of the correct daily recommended quantities of carbohydrate , protein and fat.
In this way each breakfast, lunch and evening meal are interchangeable between the menus without losing or adding to calorie and macro quantities.
These are not “ fad “ diets. Not high protein, low carb, low fat, which have their place, but are often difficult to maintain.
This gives you a consistent easy to follow nutrition programme which will sustain your exercise programme.

We will speak every week to discuss progress, changes to the programme as needed, and measure what we need to measure to check you are making progress towards reaching your goals.
Email support is there 24/7 if you need help or assistance at any time.
The early stages especially of change can be difficult and I am there to help you through them.
What Equipment do i Need?
If you were to invest in anything. a set of dumbbells either 3, 4 or 5kg would be good. If you are just starting 3kg, if you’ve done a bit before, 5kg.
If you do have weights, barbells boxes, steps or bands I will provide additional exercises for you…
How to Join?
If you decide to join , I will ask you to pay via Paypal an initial 3 month membership of £300, after which payments are £100 per month. On initial payment I will design you exercise programme and give you access to the menus.

Drink Lots of Water!
Keeping well hydrated is often overlooked and easily solved. Tap water is fine! It will help keep you feeling full and as a result help prevent snacking on calorie rich food. It will increase weight loss and fat loss and make us feel fitter. It will also help us over 50s look better with clearer skin and brighter eyes! Aim for 8 glasses of water a day.
Measure

Some people don’t like to go on the scales and prefer to “ feel “ their weight loss by how different their clothes feel,and how they look.And that’s fine.
We also believe that there is no point in changing your daily routine if you don’t measure your progress.We will measure weight weekly and measure other factors as determined by your programme goals.
